Estill County Schools is applying for the 21st Century Grant. This grant can provide academic, acceleration, and enrichment opportunities for students after school and during the summer. The grant could also offer educational and engagement activities to parents and families.

Dr. Eden brings many years of experience in both education and mental health, including classroom teaching, school counseling, virtual learning, and mental health therapy in private practice and public school settings. Her diverse background equips her to support students through a comprehensive, whole-child approach that prioritizes emotional well-being alongside academic success.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education from Berea College and completed two master’s degrees at Eastern Kentucky University—one in School Counseling and one in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Dr. Eden later earned her doctorate in Counseling from Louisiana Baptist University.
In her role as District Mental Health Counselor for Estill County Schools, Dr. Eden is excited to collaborate with students, families, educators, and community partners to strengthen and expand mental health supports across the district. She is especially passionate about helping students develop the emotional skills necessary to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
In addition to her district role, Dr. Eden is involved in expanding access to community-based mental health services in Madison County, where she serves part-time as a mental health therapist supporting individuals and families throughout the region.
Dr. Eden lives on a farm in Berea with her husband, Darrel, along with their dog and cat.
