Welcome back to school!  We are gearing up for another fantastic year and cannot wait to see all of you after the summer break.  All schools will have open house over the next few days.  This will provide our families with important information about the upcoming school year.  We hope everyone will be able to attend.

Our teachers and staff have been preparing all summer for our families to return.  We have seen a lot of growth in student achievement during the past four years and we are expecting another great year.  We are blessed to have dedicated teachers, administrators and classified staff that go above and beyond to make sure that we meet the needs of our students and families.

The construction at Estill Springs and the Middle School is coming to an end.   Phase II of our facility plan is ready to begin with the construction of the Estill County Area Technology Center and the Estill County Transportation Facility.  Demolition work on the proposed site of the ATC is almost complete and you will start seeing full scale construction early this fall.  The transportation facility will be complete sometime next spring and the ATC will hopefully be ready to open during January of 2021. What an exciting time for our district as we continue to make major improvements to our school facilities.

On Monday all employees will come together to kick off another school year and get ready for our students to return the following day.  This year we want to focus on “The Magic of Kindness.”  We want to dedicate ourselves to understanding that in order for our students to be successful, we must strive to meet their needs beyond the classroom.  We must make the emotional well-being of our students and colleagues a priority.

The Estill County Board of Education and I want to thank you for your support and if you have any questions about our district or concerns that need to be addressed, feel free to contact me at any time.  I hope everyone has a wonderful school year.
